What
is the difference between an Olde English Bulldog and an English
Bulldog?
The English Bulldog - is made from the original Olde English Bulldog,
breed to pugs, to down size the dog. They are a gentle companion,
but unfortunately that are wroth with many health problems. They
are not very mobile and are very prone to heat stroke. They also
have a shorter life expectancy than the Olde English Bulldog. The
breed is known to have problems with their respiratory system along
with skin ailments. The majority of the time they are artificially
inseminated and are c-section births. The Olde English Bulldog -
is a much healthier breed, with a longer life expectancy. They are
much more athletic, mobile and hardy. Even though the Olde English
Bulldog are taller and larger, it is very important to us at Mighty
Mac's Bulldogs that we keep the bulldog look. They are also free
breathers, free whelpers, free breeders, and a more versatile dog.
That will result in a great companion.
What are the Olde English Bulldogs made
up of?
English Bulldog, American Bulldog, and Bullmastiff. Other breeders
have in time used American Pit bull and or Boxer.
How
much do they weigh?
Mighty Mac's Bulldog males range between 80 to 100 lbs. females
range between 55 to 80 lbs.
How
is their temperament? Are they good with children?
All our puppies are raised in the home with our two children, and
are very well socialized. All our puppies are temperament tested
by a professional trainer on the 49th day of life. References furnished
upon request.
Are
our dogs athletic?
We at Mighty Mac's Bulldogs have our dogs currently working towards
C.G.C/ T.D.I., SchH1, FR1, and Ag1.
Are they protectors?
They most certainly are! My husband works 2nd shift and being home
along at night with 2 small children it is very important to us
that they can protect our family. Mighty Mac's Bulldogs would never
let us down.
What is there life expectancy?
10 to 15 years Do we give a written guarantee? We at Mighty Mac's
Bulldogs will provide the puppies first shots and worming. Mighty
Mac's Puppies are also checked by a certified Veterinarian before
they leave our home. We Guarantee against genetic defect, upon receipt
of a veterinarian's written statement that the puppy is unfit and
the cause. A replacement puppy will then be provided as soon as
one is available with just as good quality or better.
Do we screen our dogs for genetic diseases?
We have and will always continue to have our dogs screened by our
vet for any and all genetic defects.
How much exercise do they need?
As much as exercise should be a part of our life it is also very
important for your dog! Exercise can be as little as two 10 minute
walks a day or a day at the beach with the family. The dog should
reflect your exercise habits perfectly.
Which is the right puppy for you?
You should choose a puppy to match your personality. If you are
an active person a more lively puppy is probably best for you. If
you are a non-active person a more laid back puppy is best. The
puppy should reflect your personality! As I said before our puppies
are all temperament tested if you are looking for a particular temperament
please tell us what that is and we will do our best to match you
and the dog up perfectly.
Do we have pictures available of our males
and females?
Yes, we always have pictures available of all our males, females
and puppies included! We also have and information packet that we
put together with many pictures and literature that is available
for only $10.00. Can anyone come and see our dogs? Yes, We at Mighty
Mac's Bulldogs take pride in the way we keep our dogs. Anyone is
welcome to see the Mighty Mac Family. Do we have a video? Yes, We
now have a video available for anyone interested. Video cassette
price is $20.00.
What are the price ranges?
Our prices start at $1,000 for pet quality, to $1,500.00 show/breeding
quality. Pet quality puppies are to be spayed or neutered. The puppies
papers will be withheld until we receive a written letter from your
vet. How do we differentiate the difference between pet and show
quality? Not every puppy is a show quality. Not every puppy is breeding
quality. We at Mighty Mac's Bulldog have been breeding this line
of dog for many years with many years of experience behind us. There
are many things to take into consideration the right look, markings,
color, conformation and temperament. All of which are an important
part in choosing a show quality dog.
Do we have any of our dogs in any clubs?
Currently our dogs belong to the following clubs: Western Connecticut
Ring Sport Club, All dog Agility Club, The Canine Companion, and
the East Coast Bulldog Club.
Are they free breeders and whelpers?
Mighty Mac's Bulldogs are most certainly are free breeders and whelpers!
We have pictures to verify that our dogs do tie on their own and
the date is stated right on the pictures. We also cam cord the births
of our females.
Are we related to the Leavitt line?
No, we are not. We do respect what David Leavitt tried to achieve
but feel there is always room for improvement. There are many breeders
that should be recognize for what they have accomplished. We at
Mighty Mac's are open minded. We do respect any other breeders that
have worked hard in getting as close as the can to the original
Olde English Bulldog!!!!!!!!!
How can I purchase a Mighty Mac's Bulldog?
We feel choosing a puppy is very important! As with any big decision
in life, we encourage you to do your research and always check references.
We in return, only sell our dogs to homes that meet our standards.
We reserve the right not to sell to anyone, that doesn't meet our
approval. We do this for the safety and the care of our dogs. Puppies
are a lot of work and need a lot of attention. We expect anyone
that becomes an adopted parent of one of our puppies to be loving,
caring and loyal. A pet should be a part of your life for the rest
of his or her life. If for (divorce, moving, sickness or) any reason
after you purchase one of our dogs. You are unable to care for it
in the right manner. We will take back any dog that is breed by
us at Mighty Mac's Bulldogs.
